Safety
Jamaica is the most potentially dangerous Caribbean destination. You can get in a lot of trouble or have a carefree vacation but it mostly depends on you. Walking at night alone or with a loved one is never a good idea because you may get mugged. Women alone or in pairs are more vulnerable as rapes are very common. Never hitchhike. Petty crime is very common specially in Kingston. Traveling on a bus is definitely not recommended because of overcrowding and pickpockets. Major resorts have foot police and bike patrol. Mega resorts known as walled compounds have 24 hour guards. Always secure and lock windows and doors.

Whitley Bay – From Victorian Seaside to Vibrant Family Resort
Whitley Bay lies to the north-east of England in the county known as Tyne and Wear, a coastal town bordering the North Sea. The City of Newcastle lies just eight miles south-west of Whitley Bay, served by excellent public transport in the shape of the Tyne and Wear metro service.
Modern holiday facilities have grown on the reputation of the seaside town’s wide stretches of sands, with seabathing safe, if rather cold, an ice rink, an array of amusement parks and the benefit of a good golf course close by.

Much of Tyne and Wear has undergone renovation, with Newcastle, especially, now having many new buildings, modern art galleries, theatres and other tourist attractions, including a vibrant night life, with innumerable clubs and pubs. Heritage centres have given much of the Tyne and Wear industrial past a new lease of life, with different exhibitions portraying its industrial legacy.
