The city of Chicago is probably one of the most popular travel destinations in the USA. It is found in the mid- western region of the Country. Its sister cities are New York City which is about 800 miles to its east, while Los angels is about 2000 miles to the southwest. The city lies on the western shores of one of the Great Lakes, the Michigan Lake. Among the metropolis in the USA, it comes in third position. The Great Plains of the Midwest are found to the western side of Chicago. These plains provide no natural barriers to shield the city from the winds make it a very windy city. However, it is interesting to note that its nickname of a ‘windy city’ actually emanated from the plenty of “windy politicians” that hailed from the city.

Chicago climate is characterized by warm summers and very cold winters. Sometimes, the weather conditions during summer might escalate to hot and humid, but which some reasonable rainfall amounts. On the contrary, winters are characterized by snow falls and the cold winds serve only to exacerbate the situation. However, the best weather patterns of dry, warm days coupled with cool nights are experienced during the late  spring and extends to early  fall. Consequently, this is the best time to visit the city.

There are two main airports that serve the city of Chicago. The first one is the O’Hare International airport that is found some eighteen miles to the city’s northwest part. Actually, this airport is one of the busiest worldwide. The other airport is the Chicago Midway airport, which is somewhat much smaller and serves mainly domestic flights.

One of the beautiful attractions in Chicago is the Lake Shore Drive. It lies parallel with Lake Michigan and along it, one would come across attractions like parks, beaches, museums and much more. Further into the city is the street system that forms a rectangular pattern that is very easy to navigate.

The culture of Chicago is very diversified. This is clearly manifested by the various districts in the city that are very distinct to each other in terms of culture. Examples include the Greek town, Chinatown, the Ukrainian village and so on. There are various restaurants based on these cultural villages where guests can be treated to some great cuisine and adventure.

Other than the culture, there are many more other tourist attractions in Chicago. From its 103^rd floor, the Willis Tower offers very attractive views of the city. There are also many museums along the Lakeshore drive and two zoos. Visitors can take a look at the planetarium and aquarium as well. For shopping sprees, the Magnificent Mile that is located to the north of Chicago River is the perfect place to visit. It is equipped with classic stores, restaurants and shopping malls. When it comes to entertainment, there is a large symphony with world class accreditation, in addition to the bullet and opera. Comedy also clubs contribute to the city’s fame.
